Every time you use a drug, you will gain a small amount of addiction. This addiction doesn't really become noticeable however until you get a brain icon in your icons that gives a -1% penalty to your battle stats. This isn't your percentage addicted, but a penalty that comes from your addiction, however that number is the easiest way to see just how addicted you are. At around 6-8% stat reduction, you may also be kicked from your education course. Beyond this, you will also become unable to train in the gym unless you are on a drug cooldown. Your stat reduction will continue to grow all throughout this.
Addiction will clear itself slowly over time, at a rate of 20 addiction points per day. For reference, one Xanax (without any reductions from faction passives) will add 35 addiction points.
