if i get a display case and put items inside to clear my items list.. will the items that give a positive "effect" (ie screwdriver helps with car theft etc) will they still give me that "effect" or will i loose it until i take it out of the display case?

No...you ha e to have the item in your possession... Crime enhancers must be in your items to get the bonus they provide... Gas can for arson.... Etc ....

I dont have too many items that are "in the way" at the moment so ill hold off getting a case until i have too many things

If you're ever interested in what item effects you currently have active you can view the 'personal perks' section of the homepage which will display bonuses from faction, company, education, stock, and enhancers.
Yea and if we're still giving advice...use your money for the display case, add a bit more and buy a Donator Pack from the item market...it will help immensely if you are active :)
