Is it even worth it suggesting something race related?
I was discussing with a new style of tournament i would like. During that discussion I asked why didn't you make a suggestion? The reply was even if tou get 100 upvotes racing is too niche and will not be considered.
Do all people feel that way about racing?
I have made three suggestions about racing in the suggestions thread. Two got to 100 votes. One was rejected by Ched and one accepted, so people do care enough about racing to upvote a decent suggestion. Just don't suggest starting official races as soon as there are six participants. It has been suggested many times and it is still a dumb idea.
As for suggesting a new tournament, it is probably better to just get stuck in and organise the tournament yourself. The URT did not come from on high, but evolved from the Professional Racing Championship organised by BackAlleyBob, then taken on by GeorgeCostanza, and now SugarValves. It wasn't until it was an established thing that Chedburn started sponsoring it with a flash car and prize money.
The suggestion wouldnt be the new tournament i was thinking about. Only when thinking about the new tournament i realized it is impossible to do alone with the current racing mechanics and ways to setup races we have.
I only have the feeling (like many others) when you suggest something concerning racing that involves programming work that its an instant no since its a niche kind of thing.
A niche thing? It certainly used to be.
There are a lot of new racers around these days. This Forum used to be dead for months at a time. It's much more active these days.
If enough people are racing and demand reasonable updates I'm sure it will get looked at seriously.
I have been a diehard racer since like day 5. Its my favorite part of the game, so I definitely want to see more added to it.
can we start a suggestion campaign? A racing union if you will.
Start with bring up suggestions here and the most popular after a week gets sent to Ched or whoever. Maybe have everyone submit it? Racing could be better but its still pretty fun....right now. Ive only been doing it a little while. Not ready to voice my suggestions since im fairly new still but would love to hear others. Ive seen a few like the starting races soon as 6 are ready. I dont think that would work either. Torn is slow game for a reason. Makes your earn it....well most of the time. Till you get moms credit card ;)
