mission not completing

Edit: i found out why lmao

so.. i got this mission "Travel to South Africa and defeat evil_hunter using only a rifle." and i went there, accidently used my knife instead, and then went back and remembered, so i went there again and did it with a rifle weapon but it still doesn't say i completed it? and i don't understand why?

Could be a glitch, but it could be a case of accidentally user error. Did you use anything else? I'm not sure if temp weapons would affect it, but did you use any? And what weapon did you use specifically?

While it may be a problem other than these, these are the most common reasons why people don't complete it:

• It says, "Defeat." This means you have to leave them (when you leave someone, it will say that you defeated them)
• You may have used another item by accident
• Your item may not be a rifle (I know, it's trivial, but please do bear that some people forget this)
• You may have used a temporary item that changed what you did from, "only rifle," to, "Temporary item and Rifle"

If it wasn't any of those, or other reasons, it might be in your best interest to post a bug about it, they'll probably it better as well!

When duke says Defeat, you can mug or leave, probably hospitalize too but why? Mug gives money and Leave gives more exp. Hosp would never make sense for an inactive so I never do it unless the mission requires it.

Weapon: Agreed about the weapon. My best guess is the OP used a long gun that might be a shotgun. Read your weapon descriptions people.

Temps: When a mission says "using only a rifle" or "using only fists or kick", you CAN use temporaries. I have completed many of these missions throwing a flash grenade or pepper spray to start the fight. I'm not certain about damage inflicting temps though. Maybe a grenade would disqualify you from the mission?

And some of the missions say you have to buy a rifle and use that rifle for the mission, then sell it. For those missions, you need a new rifle even if you already have one. Look at the weapon's stats before purchase to make sure you don't mix them up.

Are you sure you accepted the mission before you traveled?

Try again... use a flash grenade before you use your rifle.

I figured out why it happened.. i thought i switched to the rifle i bought but must have forgotten to press "Ok" after equip.. i feel pretty dumb now lol

LOL one of biggest causes of 'oops' moments is forgetting stupid things for missions. The attack log usually points it out if it's an attack-related error. My most common one is forgetting to accept in the first place :-)
