Trying to get the amount of cash gained from a mug, and while there doesn't seem to be a key for it in 
user/?selections=attacks
, there is a "code" key that leads to the attack log, which does have the mug amount. Is there any way to fetch that amount from the attack log?

Do you know if this has been commented as a design decision or if it's just left out?

Would be interesting to see if they include it in the activity log API when that arrives.

I believe the news format will be similar to the one in faction API for {crimes/attacks/armory} news.

assuming above is my activity log, the one when pulled from API will look something like

You edited your 5k Chain Profile Signatures in a private forum.
You used 25 energy anonymously attacking {url to person profile here} and mugged them for $abc,def (chain #1) [{url to attack report here}]

Unless they changed the activity log format or changed the way they represented the data, the mugging amount should be shown. and it is possible to parse it.
