I am about a month away from starting my first venture into business ownership. My first question is what would you personally recommend for a business, and what can I expect to pay for a 2-5* version of that? I know a little vague, but im trying to be open minded. Also, how long before I can expect profitability?
Need recommendations

Best bet is to look at the one you enjoy the specials of most. You can make profit from day 1 if you control your costs correctly.
What Tarelli said and also how much money you have to invest. Also weigh the option of starting fresh vs buying. That depends on how much time you have on torn to get your company going vs buying an already established company with a few stars.
2-5* for every companies varies so much in cost, you can't estimate a cost for all company types.

Questions!
Do you have the Bach in Business?
Do you have Media Law?
Do you have Probability Math?
Do you own the TCP and TGP stock blocks?
Do you own SYS stock block? (Not needed but noteworthy if you're thinking of going into a company that gains a lot of money.)
If all these are yes, excluding SYS; then you can do almost any company and succeed. If you have SYS you can do all companies and succeed.
So the next question would be, what do you want to do?
btw if any of those questions was a 'no', then get them before you go to your company ventures. Excluding SYS stock block, that's just to protect your investment if you make alot of money.
