Forgive me if this has been addressed in an earlier post, but this has been on my mind lately.
When joining an Official Event at the Race Track, there is always a 1 hour countdown timer. This hour is set regardless of the number of people whom have joined. Unless this is some sort of mechanic to prevent people from racing more often (and therefore gaining Racing Skill more quickly), could this not be changed to something a little more attractive?
For instance: Keep the race open, no timer. Once the maximum number of participants have enlisted, start a "regret" timer (be it 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.). This could be accompanied by a push notification from the Torn App saying something such as "The race in which you have enlisted is scheduled to begin in X minutes", therefore allowing people to leave it if they wish.
The only problem I foresee with this option is that notifications may go out multiple times, and races may be delayed if people do quit.
