Ok like, as of a few minutes ago, I come back to Torn and this moron bountied me like: hey, did you think I wouldnt know it was you, blah blah, who buy mugged me!
I bought a donator pack earlier then got off Torn. After which, I resumed watching Hulu, and later came back to this dude whining in pm. ._.

So yeah, I never buy mug so this incredibly stupid newb bounties me for no reason, and calls me a buy mugger in the ‘reason why.’ That is the part that bugs me, I don’t want to burn any bridges, but this dude is smearing me for no damn good reason.



So yeah, hopefully this is on-topic. There are liars too, or people who end up assuming something that never happened. XD

I got used to that long time ago.
I'm not whining, just confirmed that Pops is buymugger, nothing more.

For me is more annoying when people think that I'm a buymugger (and I'm not, I never buymug people, I have tottaly different mug targets) because I trade actively with points and buy actively from other people's bazaars and when somebody who is lurking (and many muggers do just that) see their bazaars empty they mug those people fast. If mug was done stealth many of those poor people will think I mugged them, not knowing what pool of shark is out there.
So at least 20 people who placed me on their blacklist placed me wrongfully because of that.
But I can't do much about that, part of the game too.

Yeah TBH this is a pretty common issue. I've had people in my faction accusing someone that bought stuff from their bazaar of buy mugging them, and telling the rest of the faction to 'watch out' from so and so player. Looking at the personal statistics though at least tells that they didn't do the mugging, and I point this out to them that they might be accusing an innocent person of something they didn't do. While yes, it is possible they could of had a 'friend' do the mugging, that is harder to prove.

Buy muggers are actually my best customers. They buy up my expensive items quick, you just need to know how to protect yourself. I don't fault people for buy mugging or trying to buy mug, it's not anything shady like outright scams or trade mugging (which you still can protect yourself from). People just need to learn to protect themselves is all, and think of their mugging as a learning experience.

I got mugged today for 4.7 million. I always get mugged whenever I am chaining. Human error will start to kick in and exhaustion will start to take over. Thank God I am in clothing company. Judging from cash in hand when I woke up today, it would be crippling if I had no money mugged protection from my job. Only lost the profit and not the capital. So it didn't bother me much and I just continued my chaining.

There are so many ways to protect ourself from muggers. Self hosp, bounty, RR, travel, and also job special. What else do people want?

A new trader ranted on my chat today about getting mugged. I actually understand his frustration. Been there done that. Yeah it hurts a lot losing a week worth of profit. That's why I never understand traders who stubbornly refuse to work in clothing company. Only matter of time they give up trading, bankrupt, burn out, or get fedded for using script or multies. I have been "living" in item market since first week I played. I watched traders come and go. Newbies my age or younger who buy f**ktons of donator packs with rl money in hoping to start trading business so they will be the next Oran or Iribuya. They relentlessly spamming trade chat all day all night. After few times getting brutally mugged, they will start to disappear one by one tho.

Pops is most definitely a buy mugger. But it's part of the game. If you post high value shit in your bazaar and don't self hosp then you have no one to blame but yourself.
