The discussion can be done in the suggestion thread. If you'd made a thread for the discussion before making a suggestion, it would make sense, but with this you're just trying to get traction for your suggestion and that simply makes it spam.
Next time, start the discussion and if it goes the way you want it to, make a suggestion.
