We've got some absolute bangers to start January off though, Kattar vs Holloway, Hooker vs Chandler, McGregor vs Poirier, it will be worth that wait!
Some other contenders for 2020 fight of the year, in my opinion: Vicente Luque vs Niko Price, Josh Emmett vs Shane Burgos, Jose Aldo vs Petr Yan, Paul Felder vs Dan Hooker.
My Fighters to watch 2021: Giga Chikadze and Jiri Prochazka.
BT Sport, Full Reptile and MixedMollyWhoppery are always putting out new, fantastic content to keep you fight fans ticking over!
Didn't realize the card was on in the middle of the day today lol.. I'll have to record it and watch it later. No way I'm getting a few hours of solid fights in during the middle of the day with wife and 2 kids at home.
I expected him to come back with a point to make, but DAMN...that was something special.
Volk will never win vs Holloway in anything but point fighting. I still find it odd that Volk won based on leg kicks, when DJ lost his title to Cejudo due to judges not scoring leg kicks. There needs to be some accountability here.
Scoring in MMA is a disaster and needs to have it's own criteria. It will always be broken otherwise. In boxing for example you can't score with a strike from the palm (Stockton slap). In wrestling you get points for escapes. In Judo you get a different score depending on how your opponent lands on the mat. In Muay Thai punches are very little score compared to other techniques. Etc,Etc. What exact scoring system is the judge even following?
