Christmas Town is something that we all enjoy doing, and it's sort of a giveaway and a mode to spread happiness. And it's done in good faith to foster morality within the community.
When someone monetizes the location of a gift (more so a deal for a chest location), that's just bad faith... Not a crime, just not very nice :)
