This is driving me and others nuts. Chat failing when you navigate to different pages in Torn.
  • Unable to send the message, not connected to the server.
  • Connecting to the server...
  • Last message: 18:34:56 - 17/01/21 TCT
Some days, works perfectly, others like today, makes our chaining damned near impossible.

Yes, I've cleared my cache, yes, I've bounced FireFox, yes, my internet connection is solid and verified.

i only get this when i refresh and type right after the page is up or if i go to another page and send a message,

You are mabye doing this when that pops up if so then its just the refreshing's fault or something donno

I can't replicate that.
If the chat client shows "connecting to the server..." it is unable to connect to the server. Please try different browser, disabling addons or switching networks

Then please change YOUR setup as I'm not the only one complaining. I have tried different browsers, I have messed with the add-ins. Switching networks is not an option for a home user.

I did that. I just logged into your account, and clicked almost all links in the areas (except my faction) with checking the websocket connection to the chat server. Everything is fine. All 18 websocket connections to the chat were open immediately and worked well on my device with my network.

I suggested those steps for helping you to debug the issue as I believe this is on your side. Different browser for avoiding currently installed addons an plugins. Changing networks is for trying to get a different CF region. Changing devices is for avoiding currently installed antiviruses and firewalls.

Usually a phone with a mobile network will do for a test.
