Bonus Code Bug/Oversight

So, I found out about bonus codes in the newsletter and of course screwed that up. *Monk voice* Here's what happened.

I couldn't find my newsletter in my email, so I requested it resent to me. Being super patient, I did a quick google search to see if I could just manual enter the bonus code somewhere since I knew it already. The first link listed when Torn Bonus Codes was search is the following:

https://www.torn.com/newsletterBonuses.php?bonus=SPRING2018&email=**************@gmail.com&code=7420115829

Being a genius I decided to just change the old code of SPRING2018 to the new code. Easy peasy. The result... You have successfully claimed the bonus code 'winter20'. +250 energy has been credited to Freaker [1844126].

"OOPS! That isn't my name!" Well, hopefully it is just an inactive player that wasn't inconvenienced or saving that up for a happy jump maybe... Nope, very active player. Great...

So, that's what happened. My bad. Gonna go send Freaker and apology gift and a message about this now.

2 FHC would have been better than gambling a drug pack.

I was stacking for war. A chance E did not go to waste over 1000.


1. Dev: Given torn is the only site that is being displayed for my 2018 newsie when I googled my email address, can you deleted that page so something ?

2. Dev: I believe this happened to me in the past. I thought it was related to torn. But now, that this gentleman came forward with this thread. I appears someone else attempted the same thing in the past. Hence why I received my bonus newie E, without opening the link in my email.
