We definitively need some variety in the games where we can interact with each other.
Chess is a great sport, that requires high logical thinking, and I (alongside a number of other people) firmly believe and support the idea of implementing chess In with the games in Casino, there is opportunity for a lot of fun. And I am sure that in current Population of Torn there is a significantly enough number of people to want this implemented, and enjoy the amazing game of mind. It is incredibly simple to implement, and it would bring joy to many
There can be great competitions done with chess, chess players would be active for long ammounts of time, there is no downside to implementing it in this game, but so many great opportunities. If this has been tried before and that arguement is made Keep in mind torn grew a lot and its Population did amazingly so, what may have been 5 people playing can now very well be 500+
So I implore you to give chess a chance, I know its not a game of luck but we desperately need a chess club in Torn. Let us have it!
While no study confirms it, no study ever denied that implementing chess might just save the endangered species of tigers
I Understand those points very well, and now that i am aware of that, it would be terribly simple to have something of a chess rating "stat/skill"
Cheaters could easily be detected and banned from further games, they say it was implemented and not played by more than a few, the population of TORN grew a lot since then.
The rating can be done easily lets say starting at 100 going down or up depending on wins, cheating/scripting there could be ways to prevent and punish such behavior, and those of us who love chess and want to play it for fun, will have one more reason to love torn, make it a game that unlocks at 10+ level, if cheaters get punished, the level of cheating would easily be eliminated. There are many chess sites online, impleement in similar way and it would prevent all past mistakes of chess in torn, no automation or whatever ways of cheating were used, Just fun and Games!
I see many mentions of people using scripts and cheating in chess, so instead of acting against people cheating, the game was removed?
Why not simply federal jail those who are found to be cheating? logically i wouldn't go all in with someone i never played before, i would most likely grow a circle of people i play with and add new people to that circle as i find them to be legit players, win or lose as long as its a fair game, if someone is cheating simply report, theres a lot of helpers here i can imagine it being added workload but is that really a problem?
and if someone who spent years in torn is willing to go against rules to cheat petty in chess and risk losing everything they gained through the years, its likely the same would be using illegal scripts in other parts of torn..
I like the idea, generally, but the problem with this is that it would take way too much developer time and focus in order to ensure that there's no cheating and all that. There would have to be a cheating detection system, and maybe even a team of people, implemented (similar to what chess websites use) for an incredibly small part of the game
I check my mate nearly everyday day. She is my Queen, too. And man can she bash my Bishop when I play the Knight (and morning, noon, etc.) This King has become a Pawn in his own Castle... (Rook, I HATE ppl who say castle, but it had to be said, to fit...)
