(screen where you select squares with trees/bikes/buses, etc.) keeps on coming up on every other page I load, even though I have validated. not a biggie when flying, but is really screwing with attacks timing/chain!

The only reason Error 503 occurs if you are switching networks (between WiFi/mobile network), or if your router had a hiccup and decided to change the IP address, none of these are related to Torn itself. These errors occur in response to network changes on your end, we have this enabled for DDOS protection for Torn's sake. You just need to ensure that you are not switching networks, the check can still be triggered without a network change if your IP address changes for whatever reason, most notably if you are using a VPN service which is being unreliable.
