This sucks hard, can’t do anything, no traveling, no trades. How does one recover from a negative balance of 1,060,000,000

Sell losses, trade in barter, reflect on choices made? - gnar [2268922]

How did you end up with 1b negative? You cheated? If the answer is yes, suck it up and consider yourself lucky you're still allowed to play the game.

Well what did you do to receive a negative balance in the first place? Plenty of people play with a negative nw. Mug people until your positive or buy donator packs

I would recommend restarting probably based on your account..
This.
You literally won't be in any worse a position you are now...

Dont cheat when playing this game. It is far better to be patient.
'short cuts' are a bad idea. they usually fail and you wont get what you want to achieve. gambling and other risk taking can sometimes be successful. but when it fails and it usually does you are screwed and you wont get what you want.
Most of the better players who play this game dont take 'short cuts'
Success in this game is something which is earned gradually over time.
The risk taking is a all or nothing thing. Usually you get nothing.
Lots of field mice lose everything to russian roulette or slots or whatever and they either leave the game or end up financially crippled.
Some risk taking can be good with gambling but you cant go all in or you will lose everything fast.
Cheating is something you shouldnt do at all.

lol f**king cheater get what you deserve xD
Some douche bag bought an overpriced item in my bazzar, and allegedly he was a RMT, I have no doubt he was. I believe I was a decoy in a much larger scheme. So I lost the money, and received like 40 days in fed. The said item had been in my bazzar for almost a year waiting for some sucker to buy it and as soon as someone did I get screwed
Just restart.
Your account is not established yet, you already got labeled as a cheater and have -1b.

And what about the multiple accounts claim?
If you're expecting the community to believe your story over a staff decision for both RMT and multis, you're going to be disappointed.
If you'd played for fifteen years and had a LOT of friends in the game and been fedded for a social violation, you might find some sympathy. But honestly, the multi / RMT charges are not made lightly. Staff have a lot more information than you think they do.
If you still want to play Torn ( a big "if" given that you haven't logged much time here in the past year) then you have two choices: 1) accept that you're in debt and work your way out, 2) close this account and restart.
Note that I didn't list whining in the forum and expecting someone else to pay your debt.

Moved to questions.
would restart imo
Encouraging a player to erase debt via restarting seems egregious to me, lots of moral hazard there.
Does the game just write-off that negative balance as bad debt upon the cheater restarting? Why shouldn't the debt carry over to the new account? Especially if multiple restarts are involved. Maybe an enforcement challenge?
Negative cash on hand is subsidized to death as it is... there's no interest charged by the game for the loan, there's no forced asset liquidation, you're not muggable, and you can still use items from your faction (last I heard at least?)
OP - You should liquidate anything of value that you have, work in the highest paying job you can find, use your energy for $ (bounty hunting, mugging, slutting, reviving, etc) max out your awareness and sell your daily city-finds, focus on high-dollar crimes, and do anything you can do to earn cash legitimately (submit comics to the newspaper and pawn the points, for example), or simply pay the fine with RL money and buy donator packs to cover your debt.
Do the crime, man up and do the time. Don't cop-out and restart. You'll have learned nothing from your cheating!

Dude... You've made this exact same forum post before.
Shut the f**k up and accept the consequences of your actions. You cheated. Admit it. Deal with it.

Sounds like he will spend 3 months accumulating around 1b he could get alternatively by just restarting with zero anything. I didnt bring moral ethics into it, its Q and A. And the best option for him is to simply, restart. As for if that is possible or breaks guidelines as he has clearly cheated I dont know or care.
But it definitely would be the most time efficient solution, he can however do exactly what you say alternatively, which would definitely clear his debt in no time. I recommend maybe sweet shops/ grocers as the cans can be sold for ok money despite his probably low work stats. Mixed with slutting since he is probably weak. Keep in mind you should try trade the cans for xanax = 10 more losses, as you wont have cash to be able to buy xans.

I see and get what you are saying.
but i think restarting in a never ending game where success is achieved slowly overtime is not a good idea.
'aggressive short cuts' to stardom wont succeed for most players. they are high risk.
anyone even thinking about restarting has already failed. they will never be what they could have been if they had just played on their original account without the insane rabid (squeak tm) risk taking.
lots of players do restart its one of the weirdest fads in this game and its a bad idea. its even worse than level holding..

Chill it's just a game.
The player, unless he has borrow money from a few close friends, does no harm to others by restarting.
Yes the player could grind and pay back the debts, but it's a game where he is supposed to have fun, not log in, do things that he doesn't enjoy so that he can play the game as normal again.
