I have recently bought the running away from trouble book which guarantees escape success. If I get my opponent to main pepper spray and they hit me with it in the first turn can I still escape or not? Thanks in advance

You need to dodge an attack to escape, most people join a 10 star car dealership with this book, which allows you to escape anytime you want including turn 1.

No, it is not strictly *necessary*, your opponent setting temps to 100% and the rest to 0% and equipping pepper spray would work. BUT, people are more willing to pay for escapes that they don't have to change their settings for.
Do you mean that I would be able to escape 100% of the time if they had pepper spray at 100% and the rest at 0%?

Just ask them to change settings when you're escaping. 10* dealership is not required. You'll get the option when they use peper spray, and it'll be a guaranteed success due to the book special. In general, you can escape when the opponent hits you during the escape but the damage is mitigated (0 damage), or when you have high enough Dex to not get hit that turn. The escape book removes the need for this
