The worst part is it's nearly 1am in the morning. The neighbours probably think I've gone crazy. Half expecting the police at my door in a bit asking about beans.

Depends on the type of bean. Most of them are classified as legumes or pulses.
Well when you look at all the other options provided, process of elimination kinda gets you there.

The captcha is pretty bad in general. The other two options can let you click through and verify quickly. Re captcha should just be a click to confirm thing, not the 2 page monstrosity is. Since people get it when they open torn after landing, any method of verification should not take a significant portion or more than 15s that you get in travel protection
Kinda wish I picked up on the fact you were trying to make a joke. Just had a 10 minute long argument with someone over if beans are vegetables or not. Probably could have avoided that.
I can empathize. I’ve argued for years with my spouse who says potatoes are vegetables and I moderately disagree. Technically yes, but they’re a starchy vegetable at best LOL.

I'm no expert, but whenever I've looked in to these disagreements, it ended up that the issue is with using different sets of classification.
Specifically, a tomato is a fruit, and a vegetable. Fruit is a biological classification. Vegetable is a culinary classification.
"A legume is a plant in the family Fabaceae, or the fruit or seed of such a plant. When used as a dry grain, the seed is also called a pulse."
"A bean is the seed of one of several genera of the flowering plant family Fabaceae, which are used as vegetables for human or animal food."
Seems to be the same here.
