    If I understand your problem correctly, the image repeats if it's smaller than the needed dimensions. So yes, editing the photo to be 150×500 pixels. should fix it

As far as I know, the maximum size you can have for your forum signature is 150×500 pixels.
If you want to edit a photo's size, you can use either a photo editing program(ex photoshop) or an online photo editor (ex https://pixlr.com)
