Hi, I was just reading old newspaper articles and came across this from that CE guide from the 14th April.

> For a long time, these questions were essentially unanswerable, but the CE penalty nerf coupled with another change – the ordering of players available for an OC by their actual CE – me that these questions could now be researched.

I’m working on our faction OC’s (as always), and didn’t notice this, or at least, it’s not the same order as Yata’s AE guess.
Can someone explain to me how this works please?

As I understand it, this is talking about the list of people available to choose from when you set up an OC. Is this correct?

If so, this could be very useful. It might even be worth going through my own crime logs to get an accurate AE/CE value to compare to others.

yes this is correct. It's worth cancelling all crimes occasionally so you can see your whole faction listed in order and use that to decide how to assign people to the harder OCs.

The reference to “OC ordering” was Biggles explaining the process behind their findings. Most CE studies I’ve seen required someone to sit at a NNB transition point, drop below that point, then find out how many arsons it took to work back.

this article, instead, used the OC ordering to constantly compare two people with almost the exact same CE doing different crimes to compare the relative value of the two crimes. It’s pretty clever but requires the two people to miss out on OCs for the duration.

for the record, I compiled my crime and OC history and calculated my approximate CE to ~25k arsons. This gives me at least one data point when planning my faction’s OCs
