Hello all,

im slightly confused right now i may be wrong so feel free to laugh.

so my newly referred player asked what crimes to do i advised to do a few dvds etc then we then moved on to shoplifting jackets.... he attempted 2 and was jailed both times, i thought it was impossible to be arrested and jailed when stealing jackets?

or am i wrong?

You can still get jailed at very low CE for new players. The loss from jails then are very low though so it doesnt hurt. It would still be advisable to continue with jackets.

However, based on the Crime Guide - Start to End guide:

Advice for beginners

You should have a 100% success rate on the 2 nerve crimes. Do 30 of these and move onto the selling illegal products (3 nerve) crime. Do the last one in the list. There is a chance you will get jailed, doing 30 of Search for Cash will minimise greatly if not remove this, and then move onto the theft (4 nerve) crime after you have 140-150 bootlegging crimes. Do the steal jacket from the clothing store. It's got the highest success rate. Early in the game, when your CE is low, you will get jailed doing this crime if you don't buffer your crime experience with bootlegging, but it doesn't matter, as the hit is very small, so just keep stealing jackets until you hit 15/20 nnb.

As a fellow new player, I can confirm that by following this system, I've made it all the way to 200 stolen jackets without ever suffering a red failure--I'm only a week into the game and almost always green now. I'm still not at 20 NNB, but I don't ever get arrested trying to steal jackets.
