You find yourself suddenly surrounded by a lush jungle. The trees are so thick it's hard to tell the time of day - the light it's just a golden green - but you'd guess it's mid-day. The ground under your feet is soft and loamy, and the undergrowth is so thick between the trees that the leaves are touching your face. The air is thick with the scent of exotic flowers and rich earth.
A pair of golden eyes stare at you from within the foliage at about waist height. They blink once, slowly. Thoughtfully.
You have been found.
What do you do, now?

Melody, a short girl with dark blue braids and heterochromatic eyes [left is grey, right is pink], walks through the jungle, a bit... confused on where this place is. She walks around for a bit, then turning to see another person in this unfamiliar jungle.
"Oh! Hi! Do you know where we are?" She asks the person.
"Oh! Hi! Do you know where we are?" She asks the person.
Across the clearing you see a young girl, seemingly oblivious to the possible danger she's about to walk into. You try to gesture to the girl, until eventually she notices you. She starts to question you, but you quickly shush her and point to the pair of large golden eyes still curiously watching you both from the underbrush. A large shadow can be seen, a swish of a tail blending with the dark of the jungle. So far the beast has made no sudden moves, but you're unsure how long your luck will hold.
One large paw in front of the other and you see a large black jungle cat emerge from the shadows of the undergrowth. You realize you can hear the mewls of a pair of kittens stowed safely away nearby.
A warm voice enters your minds, rich with the undertones of generations worth of time. This is the jungle at the end of the world, it says. I am here to find a meal so I can feed my kitts.
The large head swings from one girl to the other, gaze penetrating and relaxed at the same time. Are you here for me? the voice in your heads asks.

The voice seems melodious and maternal, but you are in a unknown place and are unaccustomed to voices materializing inside your mind. You blink, trying to comprehend the words. One foot slides back, readying to run. The creature gazes knowingly at you. Surely, this was all just a hallucination. Animals are smart, but they don't talk. They certainly don't possess telepathic powers. "Hello, giant jungle cat." You say out loud, palms up in a peace keeping manner. "Nice giant jungle cat." You stare into those large, unblinking eyes, glowing with clear and powerful intelligence. You are afraid to look away. "We aren't gonna hurt you, no one wants to be hurt here... or eaten." You whisper the last part under your breath. "We are lost. At least I am. I was walking home after my shift at the bar. I took a turn down an alley and wound up here. I have no idea how I got here!" Your voice starts to pitch higher towards the end of your explanation. " And now somehow I'm in a jungle, with a stranger, talking to a jungle animal!" You start to feel yourself panicking, and take a couple of deep breaths.
Those big eyes blink once. Twice. And the soft curves of ears flick back at the high pitch, one she knows well be it the squeal of a pig or the squeak of a mouse. That's food talking...
She rumbles low, however, not so keen on the idea of eating something as smart as she. At least not yet. We are here together. Perhaps we are meant to help each other?
Her tail flicks and she turns to push her nose into the shadowed bushes behind her. When the large head swings back toward Lukara, there's a black kitten in her mouth. She deposits her babe before the girl, then goes back twice more.
Three rolypoly mewling kittens now sit in a pile between them. One is much smaller than its litter mates. They have all just opened their eyes for the first time, and now they're curious and seeking.
You help me feed my kitts, and I'll find you a way back home...

Lukara's head is spinning. What felt like a lifetime, but was surely only 15 minutes at most, had passed and she had gone from being unceremoniously dropped into a strange land and almost eaten to having several balls of fluff dropped before her. Admittedly cute fluff, had not the adult version been sitting mere inches away, gazing piercingly and licking her incisors. "Uh," Lukara stammers. "Ok, I can handle this." The furry pile in front of her starts to jostle and mewl. The smallest dark bundle tumbles out and Lukara is suddenly staring into the biggest, brightest pair of eyes she'd ever seen. She squats down and the two stare at each other for a moment. Lukara, lost in the adorableness of the baby creature and the kitten probably in confusion of this strange two-legged being. Suddenly, the bewitching cub grows claws and lunges at Lukara's face. "Ok, whoa, whoa!" Thrusting her arms out to keep the tiny thing at bay without hurting it, Lukara hurriedly agrees to finding food. However, having only her purse and her girl scout training from ages ago at her disposal, she is unsure how to go about doing such a thing. Lukara glances over at the mother feline, "Do you have a name, or something I can call you?" She is still unsettled by the voice that materializes in her thoughts, by an animal of all things, but she is grateful to have a possible ally in this crazy (hallucination) place.
There's the sensation of swimming silently through the darkness of a jungle pool at night, and the sudden deadly lunge that follows. Fangs sinking into the neck of some kind of wild pig and the hot blood that rushes, pouring on the ground. I am known as Jankara by those who don't see me coming...
You get a sudden visual of yourself, standing there over the panther's cubs, and how funny you looked as the runt of the litter lunged at you. You get the sense of her amusement, and her pride in her fierce little one. You... You can call me Jan. (sounds like gzahn - english letters don't make the shzah sound, lol)
She stands and picks up her kitts to deposit them one by one back in the shadow of the undergrowth. They immediately go silent, completely hidden. Jan turns back to you once this is done, and looks expectant.
