I've been offered the mission to defeat Duke and unlock the expert missions. I know it's not possible to do it on my own, but I'm unsure about how to go about doing it with others.

When duke is looted, participate in it. It'll count of duke goes down (which he always does if enough people are involved) Duke loot happens when he reaches level 4.

People do group attacks on Duke, usually around loot level 4. You can track the times here ( https://yata.yt/loot/), check-in, and see if anyone has started a fight. In a large group attack, you’ll be able to land some fights and therefore complete your mission.
