All this shit getting flung in these RW FD threads. lets come up with some ground etiquette and have some discussion around.

Are bounties allowed? Faction family hosping offliners? flight delays? Is everything allowed? offensive revives? defensive revive contracts?

i don't know why your faction sitting in the hospital would be looked down on, but is it poor form? is it better to tell your faction your enlisting or just yolo it and see if they show up?

anyways, lets have a discussion cause ya'll be on different planets when it comes to what you think is right or wrong.

Not a huge fan of any form of outside interference, even if us in NSIV were getting pounded I think I speak for most of our guys when I say we'd never want our NS1,2, 3 bros to bail us out.

Ranked wars should be a fight of honour, dignity and skill of that individual faction. All the dirty and underhanded behaviour should be left for TT/Racket wars.

Bounties - No (Fight them yourself)
Flight delays - Yes (Why they flying during war)
Offensive revives - Yes (Should've turned revives off)

You most certainly should tell your faction you're enlisting for war if you expect them to show up prepared. (not saying you need their permission)

Staying in the hospital to stop bleeding tickets is a sexy strategy and show of endurance.
However that being said, sometimes it can be used to prolong a war purely for the sake of annoying the opposition, that's some beta boy shit.

Some people will argue everything should be allowed, all is fair in love and war and to that I argue; suck yer mum bruv.

Bountying your own offliners is essentially the same as asking friends to hosp the offliners, just with more steps. I think a future discussion about that particular topic would have to have a consistent view on both tactics.

Personally don't like any interference, hosping offliners is about what I'd deem acceptable. But alas it's not regulated by any in game mechanic so anything is on limits no matter how "scummy" it is, so people are free to do whatever, from bountying to offensive revives.

I'd hope faction families at least avoid getting subs to throw smokes and contribute in such ways as to imbalance the "1v1". But again, nothing stopping anyone from abusing such mechanics as we have seen, and a win is a win end of day

There's a lot of cool tactics that have been implemented tho, from hiding in hosp to having members hit abroad to keep chain alive. I do find all the ways of manipulating the new system curious and will continue to think of cool methods (such as hosping top enders just as war begins or buying losses pre war to roll a booster or two, which will give my team any advantage

1. When a guy asks nicely if he can have 10 seconds to med out on mobile and join a new edu course, it should be frowned upon to gangbang him with 4 people the second he meds out.

2. Reviving passed players who have not been marked fallen is playing god, and should be discouraged by all.

3. If you lose the meme war, you lose the war war.

Edit: The above are not directed at any particular faction. Except #3, which is directed at ever faction Haka wars. Unless it's TuS, because that eould be a tough meme war.

Anything goes - Early Discharge is there for a reason - nobody can lose a war due to 100 outside hits....

So anything up to that actually opens a bit of alternative tactics....

If you think you lost because of outside hits though - you didnt - it was just you reaching into the excuses jar!

Edit.. That being said - we would never choose to use bounties against an opponent with a lower average stats than us, out of respect for competition. We would absolutely against higher averages.

I agree except sometimes staying in the hosp for an extended period for a very well organized push I think is completely valid. If the enemy gets tilted over it, it's a valid strategy too.

I think also as soon as one side starts using underhanded tactics, you can't call foul if they return the favor.

Bounties and family members hosping feel abit icky to me, but "allowed" sure. One person does it randomly and then it avalanches outta control, you can't really help it and it sucks watching yourself be bled dry on score out of some principled stand. Can't hold anyone against doing that imo.

Flight delays shouldn't just be allowed but mandatory xD

Offensive revives -- 100% allowed - by and large people complain interesting tactical stuff is often removed/nerfed in Torn. This is something vaguely interesting that remains (not sure how you'd prevent it tbf)

Defensive revives contracts - is that really a Q?

Sitting in the hospital being poor form....dunno it's pretty contextual. If you screw something up (war perks) or get overwhelmed and need to regroup, it makes complete sense to take a breather and work out a plan. I can't actually think of a scenario where it's poor form tbh

not a fan of intentional outside interference (for example, allies/sister factions trying to influence the outcome of the war), cause then it's not really between the two factions. bounties are ok though and so is the rest as long as it's not expressly forbidden by game rules.

Lmao, love this. Ty for the shout out. I’m a changed man.

Etiquette shmetiquette. Much like poker, if you enlist in a ranked war, do what you want, but prepared for what’s to come. Could be a faction family self hosping/flight delays in a ranked war… just like in poker it could be a 2b loss to a noob that never plays again and you go on full tilt and bounty 100s of time consequently getting publicly humiliated, and lose staff privileges all on top of the $$ just for the sake of proving a point on etiquette.

tdlr dont pick the etiquette hill to die on

:)

I think any tactic is fair game, it would just end up stat against stat otherwise, the whole point of warring is to find a weakness and exploit it, all/every effort should be made to win otherwise what sort of war is it?

in RL war you look for the competitive edge and exploit it whether its for you or against your enemies.

i would have no hard feelings if a really useful tactic like reviving me instead of using my med cooldown was used OR if someone put a bounty on me to keep me in hosp while offline (thanks for nerfing seds ched) see my point? where do you draw the line?

no rules and no limits imo
takashi [2491991]
just some of the shit i've seen slung around different form posts, it's not an end all be all list...just some points to start the conversation rolling

As much as i would love to speak about the moral high-ground and how factions should not bounty players, ask family/alliance for help and so on and so on...
... Since there is a cash interest in this all rules are thrown out the window. Cash is king - always.

Personally i would love a real 1v1 without outside interference in any way but as stated above, that´s never going to happen.
