It is indeed TornTools. Disabling the 'chat search' feature will fix it. And also try disabling TornTools before reporting bugs :)

So I suspect this issue is with my browser as I'm unable to replicate it on mobile, however if anyone can tell me how to deal with it I'd appreciate it.

Issue is on a Lenovo Laptop running Avast's secure browser

So under the PM messaging window, where there'd normally be one area, I instead see three, none of which are useable for typing.

confirming same issue here. can't type to anyone on chrome, 2 separate pc's. tying works in fac chat (right side photo) but not pm (left side photo)

confirming as well, i'm on Brave browser windows10. Though i can type to people yet, so..

is a torntools issue how to fix? just disable the torntools and it will comeback to normal

It is indeed TornTools. Disabling the 'chat search' feature will fix it. And also try disabling TornTools before reporting bugs :)

This is a TornTools (extension) issue, see this bug report and reply from bogie.

Disabling TornTools or the chat search features of TornTools should resolve the issue.

can confirm as well, turning torntools off, fixed it, you have to turn the whole extension off(disable) not just the search feature

How do you disable Torn tools? I am having this same issue

you need to right click on the TT icon, go to manage extension and disable/turn it off

Same here, can't chat on mobile, kiwi browser so chromium.

Edit: see the problem, using TornTools also

More edit: indeed disabling chat search solved it immediately.
