It would be nearly impossible to profit from selling a username due to specific requirements which must be satisfied to take the name of an inactive player.
You are limited by name changes, one every 90 days so really unlikely to be much money in it, your current one might get some cash but after you change got a wait to be able to change it again
2.7+ million people created accounts/usernames and nearly 20 years have passed from the start of the game before you created yours. Do you really think that if there was any demand for it, that you would be able to take the name in the first place?
So it's not against the rules, but you're going to have a difficult time turning it into any sort of business.
