502 error — Bugs & Issues

Last night I started a game of Russian Roulette for about 500m (04:37:34 - 04/05/22 You joined a game of Russian Roulette against ShaggyFresh with a bet amount of $506,619,224) I was supposed to be the first shot. I clicked shoot and all it did was pop a loading circle on my screen and never did anything. I pressed shoot 2 more times and it just kept showing the loading circle. I was playing on my cellphone so I closed the app and reopened the app and it was loading real slow. Then it popped up a 502 error screen. I then closed back out of the app and tried to restart the app again. The second time when I got the app pulled up it turned to a solid while screen and didn’t load. Then I tried a third time to reload the app and it finally worked but so much time had passed that my timer went off and my opponent used the “take action” and shot me in the stomach taking my money. Never even got a chance to play and lost 500m.

These are the events of when I tried to log back in after the game wouldn’t load..

And then of course my opponent using the “taken action” while it wouldn’t load.

04:40:36 - 04/05/22 You lost the game of Russian Roulette against ShaggyFresh losing the pot of $1,013,238,448 and going to hospital for 0h 17m
04:40:36 - 04/05/22 You were sent to hospital for 0h 18m : Shot in the stomach

if there is anything else please feel free to message me or post back on this. I’m not real sure what can be done. Obviously I’d like my money back if that’s possible. Otherwise I’d like it looked into so it doesn’t happen to me again or someone else who may be playing a bigger game for a lot more money.

I don't think we had any issues around that time, at least nothing else was reported. So I would assume it was client side issue. I will pass this along to Joe to see if he can find something else.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this. We had no issues at this time and the servers were all stable - there was also no drop in user activity.

502 is a bad gateway error, so it could have been something on your end, or something between you and the Torn servers. It's very rare that such a problem would occur right in the middle of an RR game and persist until the timeout though.

I don't think there's any reasonable action we can take here, and the timeout timer is probably as long as it can be already, increasing this may result in a net-negative.
