Enjoy this guide, let me know how you think.
Before we jump into some basics, let me give you a gigantic welcome to torn! Your about to experience something that is more of phenomenon that’s caught on to the game: crime, destruction, and community. This game is very enjoyable if you can find the venues to do so, have a solid base of supporters, spouses, and friends, and be honored by the community. This guide is intended to explain how to get started, what is torn, what are some basic things to know, and how to reach level 15 (the most important goal every newbie should be aiming for), and a simple money making guide. These are common areas new players ask, so this guide can serve as a universal standpoint and reference if there are any questions.
The Basics
What is Torn?
Torn is massive multiplayer crime game that takes place in a imaginary city called Torn City. There, barely any rules are made (besides the game rules themselves and some unspoken community rules), and everyone is welcome to do everything. Basically an anarchy but but not one. There, you can take your own paths, achieve goals, become famous, and basically have fun in a game. It is a very active game, instead of those inactive RP games, and monthly updates are being rolled out each month.
Torn Basics/Day 0 Start
Let’s start with a basic term called Energy. This is your energy, well, it is used for many important activities, such as training in the various gyms to improve your battle stats, and attacking enemies you don’t like. It’s probably the most important thing upfront that you need to know: There are limitations to how much energy you get, so Do Not Spend any spare energy you have yet, there are specific things you have to do with the energy to become better; do not waste it randomly. Complete the new player missions first before going to the next part, as it credits us with bonus energy that is very important to our next objective.
Our next objective is to do a mini-happy jump, with lollipops. Wait until it’s :16, :31, :46, or :01, and consume as many lollipops as you can until your booster cooldown (basically a fancy term to that you can’t consume infinite candy, it’s relatively lax compared to real life :), and then buy a ecstasy (about 50K) and then consume it. Then train all your energy (500, I believe) in the gym and you should have 250-350 stats, which is just about enough for our next objective. A side note that if you overdose (when you accidentally over-take a drug and it gives you a super long cooldown and you cannot do this objective; it happens randomly), that would be unfortunate. I will try to compensate you so you can grow back the next day, but no guarantees.
Then, use this Guide (Baldr’s Basic Advice) and scroll to the leveling targets. To the right of them, are the stats. Attack those who are 1. Lower or equal stat to you, and 2. not in the hospital. Keep doing this until your level 15! Armor such as combat armor, and temps such as pepper spray or grenade will greatly aid you; if you have any spare money, start by buying 50 of those, and equipping those. Go to settings (top right), and click attack settings, and click the auto-reequip option so you don’t have to click that equip button for a million times. Using this method (I believe), and eating 3 Xanax a day, using all refills, and all nature energy will make you level 15 within 3 days, which is very, very fast.
How to earn money?
Ok, your now confused, I keep saying you need money, but I never said anything on how to make it. Scrap that now. Let me show you how to make enough money. But take this with a grain of salt because I’m likely more lucky then like 90% of new players, so I’m probably underestimating that difficulty to make money. But again, if you need assistance and you clearly have an intention to improve and follow my guide, I will be more then welcome to help. Just reach out.
You can always buy beer and earn 300-400k cash straight by selling them to a trader, cheap and easy. If there out of beer and it’s almost game update time (12:00-UTC), you can buy kitten plushies and they yield about 80K. That’s also good. And if you join a relatively respected faction, they might give you some Xanax, gear, and points and have a “reward system” for good behavior. But at No times shall you beg, scam, or sell losses (slut). These are common pitfalls for raising new players that totally demolish them. Maybe losses can make good money, but there basically a waste of energy in long-term and it does not matter if you accumulate some debt or drug addiction, flying when level 15+ can make you 6m day easy no hassle.
If you still need help making money, look at funs & games. Over there, there’s lots of big and small giveaways by some generous peeps, perhaps you can get some items or money if you post on a thread or do a specific thing, just look around how many people are giving away things. But be warned, not all “lottery style” stuff is legit, check the karma of the thread to make sure. Massive dislike count = shady thread don’t post or play.
