'Har Ghar Tiranga' said our honorable prime minister. It means flags on every house. Well, all I see are flags on every bike, auto and ad banners. But, that's India. We can modify any rule. We even made Indianized versions of noodles.. what's a simple rule?

Happy Independence day to fellow Indians. 75 yrs done , many more to come. Hope that when we complete 100yrs we will have used the time to make ourselves and the country better. Cheers
It was a request , not a rule. People have been displaying flags during various occasions in their vehicles and stuff since many years. May be you were born yesterday.
Making deal with Russians for oil when the prices are soaring everywhere so as to reduce the burden on common Indians , but also supporting Ukraine against violence is exactly what an Independent country should be doing if it serves the common people. Govt of India was elected to serve Indians not Ukrainian or someone else. We can do what's best for us and also try to help others by what we can do realistically. We don't have to be crusaders.

Maybe you dont know the rule. Maybe you are not aware of new rules. Vehicles are not supposed to carry the flag. Even collectors' vehicles are not allowed to do so. It is considered disrespect to the flag.
It is indeed advantageous to the people. But you mean to say that just because of profits, we forgo our morals? While supporting someone on the surface, we make deals with their enemy behind their back? That's what immoral people do. India has been known to be just and moral and having values. Are these the values? Sure it helps the people, but at what cost? Loss of honor? I don't say we have to be crusaders. I just meant that supporting ukraine on the surface is not right. Just make deals with russia and help ourselves. Why quote humanitarian reasons on the surface?
Maybe you are not clear about what Independence is. Due to the hardcore corruption, anything you want to do is dependent on whether the higher-ups agree. For them to agree, for your applications or forms to move faster, in fact, for anything related to the government, you have to pay extra or have connections. What's the difference from before 1947 and now? The celebrations we have now are all mostly gimmicks for elections, nothing concrete.
Grow up and look around you. Then you will see what's happening. I am not saying I have a way out of it. We are humans. Humans have ego and the desire for more. I don't think India is that bad compared to other countries. Our economic policies are pretty good. However, my point is that Independence day is not something worth celebrating. That's all

I don't think i can argue with someone who thinks geopolitics runs on morals , values and honor. If you don't want to celebrate , so be it. Bcs please spare us from your sermons. Regarding what independence is, it's a vague concept. It's just a difference of opinion. Everyone has their own yardsticks. I am not saying you are wrong or I am right. It's just where we draw the line. But, you needn't go so personal on that. Have it your way! Since it's a forum, I just put forth my opinion.
While watching cricket we 'advice' cricketers on where and how to hit through our TVs. It's not that we know better. It is just a vent for our opinions. We don't fight over it. We don't get angry over it. We can't change anything anyway. Same with geopolitics. We can only discuss it, not change anything. So, just calm down.
