We've been wanting a new college course for a while, why not manufacturing?
As a guild function you would unlock 4 manufacturing machines for metals, wood, plastic, and cloth. Using these you would breakdown weapons and armor into their matching components with the quality of the original items still attached. 5 identical components is steel ingot quality 20 could be refined into steel ingot 21 this would cost 1 coal or 100 flowers, plushies, or paper products.
To create items from the components the relevant faction machine must be unlocked. The ingots used must all be of the same quality, the quality of the item created can be at best the same as the ingots used. Quality of the crafted can be boosted by college classes, decreasing the çhance of items being made on the lower end of quality and ones for increasing the quality of all items made by type. The degree would improve the quality of all items made.
This will increase the activities within factions and their value, add a new college degree and turn items from bits and bobs into functional ones.
