Graved - no true discussion. If you want to build karma:
Useful/funny are typical ways to go. Memes are huge karma grabs. Guides (esp if done really well!) things of the nature. Poke around the forums so you can see some good and bad examples.
Furthermore…:
There are several rules in effect governing how Karma can be given. Some of these are kept hidden from users, but others are well-known. Here are some of the rules governing Karma.
Karma is NOT credited if…
The post is under thirty characters long
The thread is locked or in the graveyard
The thread is in your faction’s forum, company forum or elimination contest forum
The thread is in Trading Post forum for flowers or travel
The person adding the Karma is a new player or has not posted in the forum in a long time (this is to prevent illegal accounts / multi-accounts from affecting Karma)
The person adding Karma has been mass-rating a single user’s posts (likes or dislikes)
Also, if a thread is over ninety days old (no posts more recent than 90 days), the posts to the thread will NOT earn Karma, but the original post CAN still earn karma. This is so user guides and tutorials can continue to earn karma even if no one is posting replies.
See the History section for more info. A user can also have Karma stripped from their account if it is determined they have been buying votes or have been mass-downvoting another user.
