Have you ever heard of the 5* special at Private Security Firms, Open Arsenal?
...No?
Okay, to be fair, neither had I before a few months ago. It was pointed out to me that it gave primary and secondary weapons and that it could give a few elusive weapons I was searching for (and it does, prior to last month when they were added to caches, Open Arsenal was the only way to get a Beretta 92FS.) From there, needing a thread to cite for the wiki curiosity about what weapons it can give got the better of me.
Here's what I found after spending waaaaaaaaaaaay too much money on hiring people to blow their job points that they could've been spending on mission credit instead (Thank you again to all testers for the help!):
Open Arsenal can give 45 different primary or secondary weapons. All are Heavy Artillery, machine guns, rifles, shotguns, smgs, or pistols (so nothing like the blowgun or slingshot.) It does *not* ever give a weapon with a status effect. I did not record quality for most of these but from the very few data points I had it seemed like a regular quality distribution, same as buying from Big Al's.
The most valuable possible weapon is an armalite. No, as far as we know you *cannot* get a GAK or any other uber-trust-fund type weapon from this.
We had 383 recorded results, for a total weapon value of about $481,152,810.
This comes to an average approximate value (using big als sell prices for most or lowest market value for those without sell price) for each use of the special at $1,256,274, or $16,750 per jobpoint (an extra 167,500 per day at a 10* if you used all job points on Open Arsenal.)
As you can get 3 mission credits per job point at a Private security firm, this would be like selling mission points for $5583 each. (which is a slightly better exchange rate than buying these weapons from the mission store, to be fair!)
Now what you're all waiting for: the data.
The special didn't seem to favor any types of guns over another. I assume with more data points (which if you want to take over and go through the massive pain of collecting more, be my guest) everything would equal out to about the same frequency.
I cannot guarantee this is all possible results but after 383 tries and not having gotten any new results the last 100 or so results, I'm willing to call it good.
