With the most recent change in Torn city that involved changing 3 titles to "be more inclusive" to all players, which most people disliked and disagreed with, it got me thinking. Why are some changes (ideas, updates, name changes...) required to be put into the suggestions forum and need to reach 250 likes to be even read by Chedburn, and others are instantly accepted, either with a player saying it, or Chedburn (and other developers) think of it and change it. I feel like there needs to be something done about it, so the majority disliking a change does not happen again.
The best way to do that would be to make a poll, or a vote, where players can decide if they like the change or not. This system would be basically the same as likes and dislikes. It would make sense that before developers push a change out without asking any of the players, there would be a poll so everyone can vote, if they like it or not (kinda like reverse suggestions). The best place for that would probably de the Announcements forums, since all Torn updates are posted there anyway.
What do you think? Should there be a voting system implemented for this kinds of changes - not including updates. Giving players the ability to decide if a change is good for them and the game or not.
Provided 90% of Torn are full of males, I feel it's better to let the devs and Ched to decide what's best. Maybe an option to choose between the name or honor according to their liking might be a better solution.
Someone might like a specific tag on their profile and if it's inclined to a specific gender then an option to choose between the gender specific roles' names or tags should be promoted.
Or just make specific tags for males and females. So, if you are a female in Torn, your tag will have Hit Woman rather than Hit man. It's as simple.

Because Ched sleeps better at night knowing what a massive difference he's made in the lives of gender warriors who have been battling for their survival while living in 1st world conditions. Ched is a hero.
Wait, Hero is often a term used for males which is clearly wrong. Apologies;

No I don't think we should be given the right to decide torns future updates. Each game has good or bad updates and thats what makes it interesting, sometimes being happy and sometimes not agreeing with new updates xD
Everyone will be looking their own interested based on these updates and not the long run vision

How exactly do you get "most people dislike" when the poll you link to has 40% "don't care. it's just a name" and 11% "about time"?
Reading the `Men are disappearing -- has PC come to TORN?` thread threatened to give me a f**king aneurysm, imagine thinking calling someone a Hired Gun instead of a hitman made them less of a man
But either way, I like that we can make suggestions, and I like that as a community, we can sway the shape of the game. But I'd hate for that to be for every change, this game would SUCK if the loud majority got to decide how it was developed
Maybe let the game be a game and stop dragging politics and all the world problems out of it, in the end of the day it’s a entertaining feature every player have full control of using or not.
kinda sick of the current world problems being a thing dragged into games, games are suppose to be a way to escape reality for a moment not to be reminded what crap is going on out there, we are all aware of the problems and really don’t need to be reminded about it everywhere.
Why do you even give a flying f**k about this? And where did you find out that "most people" disagree with the change? I bet the large majority doesn't care and you should do the same

Some ideas are easy wins, or something the dev team was considering, or simply just good ideas. That's why they can skip the queue. Other ideas require a lot of work, are not great/well formed, and community support is a good indicator of the value it could bring to the game. That's why they go through the suggestion queue.
I doubt the titles are what people are rallying against. It's more than likely the move to make everything "politically correct" in society for no reason more than to prove how politically correct you are.
This is not a criticism of Ched or Torn, just the world as it is now.
If the change was solely to be gender neutral I think it would have made more sense to give people all three options. That is, a male and female version, and then a third neutral version. As it is now the change seems pretty silly, and the only new title that seems to carry the same essence and retain being cool is Sharpshooter.

It's day 406, Ched has still refused to change the titles. We've all bought so many donator pack that our blue names fry the screen of whomever gazes upon them but still he refuses to listen. Our spouses and children are pleading with us, telling us they're hungry and it's just a game, complaining about the inheritance money that clearly went towards a good and just cause. The weak willed fools can't understand that a hired gun just isn't, and will never ever ever be, as cool as a hitman or terminator. The time for diplomacy is over. I've arranged a meetup of 8 players including one with over 3B stats to assault the manmade volcano that's powered by Torn's servers. Assuming Dave's mom can give us a ride we will strike at dawn.
