why should scripts that don't require to actually be in the game or watching a certain part of the game be allowed. there are so many scripts and yes I can even make them, that you sit in discord and as soon as an event happens you get a link and it's basically handed to you. what fun is that?

It's just part of the game. The developers have designed the game to be API and script heavy. If you wish to utilize those options, you're free to do so.

I hate the script monkeys. I am a technologist, but refuse to do it.

It wrecks the game. It's one of the worst decisions allowed on Torn.

disgusting how they utilise instant forms of communication too... in my day you'd write a letter, hand it to a trusted confidant and then wait several weeks in the hopes of a follow up message, whilst having a 43% success rate on delivery.

fking technology its ruined everything.

Because it's ether a sanctioned API pull and scripts, or a lot of unsanctioned screen scraping and a bunch of other dodgy crap. People will do anything to win, so the smart decision is to give them an official way to make the game streamlined and efficient.

Also, because the development of Torn is incredibly slow, and even quality-of-life fixes take years to show up officially. At least Ched gives us some ability to fix shit ourselves.

So given all this, you can either make use of the scripts or play on hard-mode without them.

This is a browser-based game, and that makes the data very accessible to scripting. If you want self-contained games, get a console.

no fun its a legit way of farming every aspect of the game they should all be banned every single one ,no matter if its telling you about drug cooldowns or when you have landed or linking you to a players attack screen when big items sell in there bazaar....
gnorf [2411019]
Why should they be banned if it’s within the rules, dumbass. Go talk to ched about it

Unless you’re talking about the scripts, not the players in which case I retract my insult
DieZel [1963580]
i mean the scripts should be banned ,Anyone playing who plays seriously and didnt would fall behind otherwise,,,but again id ban them all and next time you call me a dumbass make sure you read what i said and then re-read it and it wont be you left looking like the dumbass

It's scripts that have many attackers on you as you leave the HOSP. You rev or med out with your attacks lined up, as you quickly click the first one and the screen loads you realize you already have 4-5 script monkeys attacking you with multiple debuffs already hurting your attack. That's wrong and we shouldn't pretend otherwise.

The scripts used for mugging suck too, but that's another story.

If any of you lived on the West Coast, USA you'd know that the scripts hit you extra hard as the server performance from here is poor compared to other regions. During a war, you can't make a plane most times.

Torn ought to simply embed the approved scripts within the game and make them available to all or none. With only some using them, it wrecks the game for many.

Plz link these scripts. Share them. Publicise them hard. The more people that have them, the less of an advantage they offer. The more people that use them, the more countermeasures will be sought against them.
