Basically i was putting up a personal ad, and someone mugged me while i was on the post ad page, leading to me posting the ad without paying the fee. i am on a chromebook chrome browser

If you were trying to post an ad a few minutes before posting the bug report, then it wouldn't have worked because you already have an ad in circulation from 3 days ago:

Money was correctly deducted from your account on 23rd January when you placed the ad. It will be in circulation for 7 days, as mentioned in the notice while placing the ad.
