if i work in an AN and have the -25% opponent speed and i attack someone with 1k speed with 2 flash grenade, would their speed be reduced to: 1000 * 75% * 1/5 * 1/5 = 30 or -97% their original speed?

however, when i do it in a real battle, the result was only -91% speed

linky to image here as i don't know how to show image here

Why?

i tested it again with 2 smokes and the result was also a reduce in effectiveness

was there something wrong with my math or was it simply a game mechanic where many of the same temps are used would result in a reduced effectiveness

the target i attacked was an absolute beginner so no education buff

my faction wasn't having any buff

i wasn't math when i was doing the high

thanks in advance!

Your opponent likely has some buff that increase their speed, such as 2 increments of "Sharpness - Gives a passive bonus to speed of 3%."

Multiple temps of the same kind have diminishing returns. So the 2nd flash wouldn't reduce speed by the same amount as the 1st.

So if the 1st flash reduces speed by 3/4. The 2nd flash would only reduce by 3/8. So 50% effective. Then every flash after this has its effectiveness cut in half by the previous amount. So half of 3/8 which would be 3/16 and so on

This applies to every temp. So smokes, pepper spray, tear gas, ect.

The exception to this is that temps of different kinds do not suffer from this. So throwing a smoke and a flash would have both of them at 100% of their effectiveness. So it would be stronger debuff than a double flash or a double smoke.
