A lot going on, but no one has posted about this man. It would seem he has a long history of mental illness and homelessness, and of course, it was left untreated for over a decade it seems. Needless to say, the State of NY massively failed this man.
On the 1st, Neely was reported to have said he was hungry and ready to die after getting on the Subway. It's reported that Neely began pacing and having a mental health crisis, yelling in an aggressive manner. Some claim there were threats, and some claim he simply yelled that he lacked food and water, but was acting aggressive. A former Marine, in an "attempt to subdue" Held Neely in a Chokehold for roughly 15 minutes, as two others held Neely's arms.
Neely would later die at the Hospital, and his death has been ruled a Homicide. So far, the Man who killed Neely has not been charged. Through his lawyer, The man who choked Neely, identified as Daniel Penny, claims he did not wish to Harm Neely, only restrain him, and could not have predicted his untimely death.
What do you all think? I tried to summarize what took place with as little bias as possible.
