join a faction that will loan you free combat gear
There is plenty of armour between leather and combat armour, except for pants!
You can find relatively good armour quite cheaply:
Body: Full body armour 60k + you should be able to find 50-60% quality FBA if you keep an eye on the market!
Helmet: WW2 helmet price fluctuates between 100-135k, again buy a cheap one and then look out for a quality bargain
Boots : safety boots 75-80k
Gloves: only one option between leather and combat, Kevlar Gloves about 320-330k, once you're finished with them though you can just sell back to the city for 320k
Pants: as mentioned above, youre stuck with leather until you get your hands on combat gloves!
All in all the above adds up to approximately 650k!
A decent faction should be able to loan you a reasonable set of combat armour though, and if not they should have some of the above basic equipment for their less well equipped members!
Please remember that even if you are brand new to a faction and can't access the armoury, another member will be able to loan the items out to you.
On a side note, if anyone is planning on equipping their armoury, please feel free to give me a shout for some decent bulk deals (not RW)!
