So I've been on Torn a few months now, been making decent progress, almost level 25 with a net worth of a little over 200 mill, but I've stagnated. My main form of income is Xanax and plushies but with the price of Xanax dropping I'm making less profit per run. So what sort of things can a player do to make some money.
Feeling kinda lost

You've 'stagnated' because there's nobody in your faction who is knowledgeable about the game and can guide you. Running a faction as a new player is probably one of the fastest way to mediocrity.
Be patient.
Making money when you're new is rough, though the more stats you have the easier it gets.
- Ranked wars: you can try queuing up with the faction you have and see if you can make a buck in ranked wars, but it's probably better to join an existing cache farm to get paid for your hits.
- Company: switch companies to one that's more profitable monetary wise. It's probably better to keep building on networth than being in a Fitness Center right now.
- Trading: anyone can do this, but this is totally dependable on the time you have on your hands.
- Xanax/plushie running: you've already been doing this, but perhaps for the others reading it.
- Selling your bounty slots
- Advertising for big traders (so you get paid for sending messages into the trade chat)
- Selling losses/escapes (this goes at the costs of training and isn't worth it, but in some cases good to make a quick buck for newer players.
- Claiming bounties (assuming you don't get higher ones due to your stats.

1. Join RW with your group and pray for caches.
2. Something something...
3. Profit.

For you doing Xanax and plushie runs, I'd suggest renting a PI with at minimum an airstrip so you can transport +10 more items at a time. A spouse to split rental with would help too.
Buying beers (or some other item) daily and reselling is a small thing but it's easy.
Agree with advice to change to a bigger faction. There's lots of benefits from that. A financial one would be saving money from reduced rehab frequency when Xanax adds 50% less addiction points. And the +10 travel item capacity perk too.

Ask in global chat.
The biggest problem you’ve got is the faction you own. Being in a low respect faction is like being handicapped irl, less travel items, more OD chance, more rehab costs, less gym gains, less nerve from refills, less crime skill gain, it goes on. If money is your main goal, I’d suggest joining a low respect ranked war faction in silver where you can easily make 100 m a week if you’re active. If you want to grow quickly in every aspect, a high respect faction that will take an up and comer is where to go. But owning your own with 7k total ain’t it.
