Given its Mental Health Day. Ill say this. Im a fiend for a good gamble. Having purged that IRL i moved it to Torn. Having pretty much purged that (Apart from the odd whiskey infused bookie punts that always leave ya wondering "Why did i bet on the third tier of Russian Female Football")
I find Caches have suddenly tickled that itch. And despite not learning my lesson now 10 times (I know) im curious how the Torn community feels? Do you consider it gambling? Or merely another supply pack item within the game thats just a tad more expensive then the rest.
And if it does fall under "gambling" then why are we not restricted from opening them?
It's 100% gambling, not even a question. Even had one dump RL money into torn gamble on caches, lose big, then come running to the forum to complain about it.
Please don't spend real money on them. If you do, I highly recommend deleting your account instead. It's not mentally or financially healthy.
For someone at your networth I'd recommend 500m a month loss limit after sales and just ride on that chance for a 20b item if you gotta scratch. If you do win big, take the win and start again next month while sticking to the 500m a month loss limit formula or we all know how it'll end.
yes, most actions in torn are gambling, every drug pack, 6-pack, item cache and resource pack tickle the gambling itch. Heck even crimes, attacking, mugging and city finds are semi- odds based gambles. We all hope that the RNGod is going to bless us every time.
Luckily it is possible to keep the "price" in-game, by simply not allowing yourself to spend "real money", but it's not always easy.
If you feel it's getting out of hand, there are ways to get help, you're an adult and strong enough to take the necessary steps.
Had to go for this one was so budget don't even regret it.
Heavy Arms Cache - $679,000,000 Result: M249 with 24% puncture
Not the golden goose but Puncture is one of the better specials out there, hit's like a f**king truck with all the RW armors out there so hoping to recoup the costs.
Heavies even at that price are a big loser in cache gambling but couldn't resist the below market value. Would highly advise avoiding heavies for gambling TBH but we all know why I did it...We all know I want that damn Smurf for myself xD
There is a reason why some factions open their caches before selling. Everyone splits shitty pay over time in hopes for either a big payday, or the faction keeps it. Usually those factions can afford to compensate their members on top of keeping those weapons, the rest are just scamming their members.
Gambling is a big issue for many people, so much so that I avoid gambling as much as possible. I do play Euro Jackpot for example, but that's pretty much it. I also spend $10 a year on IRL slots, and one time it went all the way to $250, basically paying for my Euro Jackpot tickets for like 6 months (while also spending winnings on the slots machine).
If you want to gamble a lot, you need to save a lot. Invest in index funds first, save up whatever you need to feed your desired gambling limits. Who knows? Maybe by the time you get there, investing might get a hold of you?
Well all supply packs have pattern. You just need to recognize it. I personally don't enjoy it as much. I like my current weapon. But I did try the pattern to get my friend a homerun baseball bat before it was nerfed.
