I know this is probably a dumb thing to ask for but since the Chronicles are for lore, then Torn City has a “story”.
So to add some more depth to this pointless lore, let’s get a symbol for TCD!
I personally like ‘T’ the most but tell me what you think

Considering Torn's dollars are accepted all around the globe, I would assume that they are just counterfeit USD so they use $

You’re still new to Torn and won’t know about The Warehouses. Before our police department started restructuring Crime departments, warehouse arsons were rife. Millions BILLIONS of dollars of warehouses were torched daily. Add that to the Nuclear Winter, Summer, Weekend, Event Starts, that we had to endure… I think Mr BeerGlass’s image is quite fitting

TCD = Torn City Dollar. ($)

Torn City is also based in the United States where the currency is also in the form of dollars. It makes sense to keep it as a dollar symbol. Torn isn't another country.

That said, I'm still not sure what the OP meant when he said TCD because he never clarified that. He said something about the chronicles... How did he come to bringing forward with the abbreviation TCD?

pretty sure OP's point was that chronicles = lore and real life currency symbol = no lore = bad which is a very weak point tbh

They wanted to find a new currency symbol for TCD which doesn't really make sense since the D in TCD stands for dollar which is associated with the $ symbol. So even with Torn being an independent state inside the states, it still holds similarities to the country it resides in.
