Moved to QnA Yes, many factions choose different focuses so they serve different purposes. You gain a variety of perks from factions, from the faction upgrades to what the faction provides outside of that. You can find factions recruiting here

Ranked war income
Growing stats ASAP
Balanced
Fleecing noobs by charging them rent and/or not paying them much for ranked war activity (scams)
Reviving (25e revives)
Mercenaries
Growing a faction only to sell it (could be good or bad for you)
Other scams

2) Some of the perks of a good faction are
A) Armory. A lot of my armor is borrowed from my factions armory. They also have free to use medical supplies like first aid kits and blood bags (you cant use those yet).
B) Perks. Factions have a perk tree that help with all kinds of things from training to how many plushies I can carry when I fly to recovery from drugs.
C) Teamwork, mentorship, etc
D) Ranked war income. When I was level 6 or so I as in a noob faction and they asked me to help with a ranked war. They didn't really explain it but I helped and was the 4th active helper. I didn't expect this but got paid 20 million which was many times my total net worth at the time. . .
3) The post above has a link to where you can find a faction to join. You will probably receive some invitations just for asking here publically. As you level up, you might want to change factions depending on your play style (which you likely have not discovered yet).

Triariu answered this pretty well. Id recommend talking to people around the game, finding people you enjoy talking with and have goals that align with yours and join them.
