whats a good way to level up? took me forever to reach level 5 for some reason and i wanna get to level 6 quickly

It does take a while, quite a long while actually, but it's worth it eventually I promise.
Attacking others and winning earns the most experience, although you get some from just gym training and some from crimes.
I suggest becoming a donator and using the advanced search to look for players who are inactive for more than a month. Pick level 5s leave them in the street and keep going.

I do agree that donator status is well worth it, whether you buy a subscription or donator pack with irl money, or a donator pack with game money.
However, you don't need to use the search feature for finding your early targets. The best way is to jump up to lv15 asap, and using baldrs guide(posted above by JackKelly) is the easiest way to do it in my opinion.
