I'm new, only been here for a day and a half. So far I'm really liking it, but there are a few things that confuse me, especially in reading the classifieds. There are a lot of job postings that require stats I didn't even know you could get that high. I'm also curious if there's a charisma stat anywhere in the game that maybe effects crimes like hustling. What's a good way to get work related stats higher? Do you just have to work for a while or can you do things outside your job to "train" yourself a little more? Is there a way to get your charisma up further, or is that not a stat?
Stat related question

There is no charisma stat, with crime you should focus on working from the top and work down the list, crimes give you a stat called crime experience or CE and that's what you need in order to progress easier through harder crimes.
I would focus on joining a Torn job first and gain some work stats, then you can join a player ran company and be trained by the director for even more working stats.

Best ways to raise your work related stats (intelligence, endurance and manual labor) is:
- Time and patience (needs to be time spent in a job)
- Paying or receiving trains (a company director gets things called trains that apply +50 to your positions primary stat and +25 to its secondary). These can be purchased for around 400k each and will significantly speed up your stat growth
Working a city job or at a company will increase your job stats daily. Educations also increase your job stats. For a fast boost to job stats, you can get trains from companies. Some companies give all employees rotational training as they accumulate them. Other companies sell trains to players looking to pay for faster growth.
There is no charisma stat, but there is IQ…
Charisma stat is an RL stat that converts over to Torn.
Hidden 6th stat discovered.
People buy trains.
5 trains a day gives you 500 primary stat and 250 secondary stat.
10 days of training and you already have 5000 in primary and 2500 secondary.
20 days of training would make it 10000 and 5000 respectively.
The cost?
1 train is 400k, 20 days of training / 5 trains a day is 40 million.
You can sell losses 350k per loss and need to sell only 114 losses and you almost have speedrunned to the end of the game.
Enjoy.

Hi and welcome!
Mostly just play the game. Yes, you can buy training but they cost a lot when you just get started and are probably out of reach for now. The player-owned companies that you see in the classifieds pay massive salaries and sure look appealing BUT 1) your work stats are nowhere near what they want in most, but not all, cases and 2) the city jobs are a good deal for you. I did not do the city jobs early and took a $5,000/day player-owned job; that was a mistake. $5,000/day might have been big money when I was level 3 BUT it isn't now AND some of those city jobs unlock perks that last a lifetime.
Ways to increase your work stats:
*Work seriously, just get a job, any job but. . . city jobs unlock perks, you want those perks! Owners of player-owned companies that have stars get as much trainings per day as they have stars. Some of those companies share those training with their employees, some sell them.
*Education Take those courses. They also unlock perks and most of them increase your work stats. This is a long game and it takes something like 7 years to complete all the courses. Merits in education help speed up this slow process.
*Yes you can buy training but I wouldn't do that now. Once you hit level 15 your ability to make $$$ will increase significantly.
