On mobile when you are going to buy something from market, when it comes to enter buying amount you need to switch keyboard to numeric. As I know there is special keyword that can be associated with input field that way numeric keyboard will pop up by default when you select it.
Additionally, from UX perspective, if someone selected amount input field it suggests that he had intention to change the value it contains right now, so it’s safe to select current input field value. That way when user start typing it immediately replaces current value.
Comparing to current implementation: you click input amount field, sometimes cursor being placed BEFORE default value for field (1), so you have to move it you want to specify some small amount, then backspace to delete current contents, then switch keyboard to numeric and only then enter new value.
