The taxmaster has been called to Torn to deal with the inflation. He is an honorable guy so he will announce when he arrives to torn.

When he arrives everyone will get taxed by 30% of their total networth and faction leaders 30% of the total value in the vault and armory and also company owners will have to pay tax for the wealth in the company vault.

But don't worry, this is only a one time thing to tax your total networth. The 14th every month after this your networth will be compared to that of the 14th the previously month and only tax you 30% of the difference there, so no more wealth tax, only income tax.

This will have several good outcomes, first of all people will try to hide their vast fortunes on their multies and they will be detected and we can remove quite a lot of previously unknown cheaters. Secondly it will be a way to battle the inflation thats currently in torn - without having to nerf any specific areas since this is more or less a global scale.

So let's all welcome the taxmaster to our awesome city of Torn!

They already have the tax man for the super-wealthy. It's called casino, 1% fee on stocks, and if that all fails you have SEs that draw a significant amount of wealth out of torn.

Most(keyword most) people pay their tax irl and now we're paying taxes too on torn?! The tax man can suck it because i'm not paying anything and even then, how fun do you think it is for someone with 1b net worth suddenly having to pay 300m in "taxes"?

There are better ways to discover multis than to take 30% of everyone’s money away. Beside that, in your scenario, the multis would be taxed too, then there would be no reason to try and hide money in multis, resulting in less discovered accounts.
