I rented a Private Island a day ago, and just got charged $957500 daily upkeep fee. The last time upkeep was paid was 26/03/24 by Duke. Have I had to pay upkeep for days I did not have the Private Island?

05:43:39 - 30/03/24 You moved into your rented Private Island with 2,250 maximum happiness

05:45:58 - 30/03/24 You changed your Private Island's staff to 5x Maid service, 3x Butler service, 10x Guard service, Doctor, Pilot costing $252,500 additional upkeep per day for 3,050 maximum happiness

11:55:14 - 31/03/24 You paid $957,500 of the $957,500 upkeep bill on your rented Private Island

That's just unfortunate timing. The daily upkeep is charged at 6:30 AM TCT everyday. Additionally, any time you (re)hire the staff, the payment is due immediately. This is to avoid system manipulation to avoid paying upkeep. This is why you incurred double upkeep on the first day.
