Hey I just noticed that I get karma for making posts here. Can anybody tell me what the benefit of karma is?

In reality it does nothing, but systemically it is a measure of someone's trustworthiness/competency to make good posts for lack of better words. In something like a qna for example you'd normally trust the person with more karma than the person who has zero (however theirs also other factors that tie into this like age, enemies, reputation etc). You dont need to worry about it much, the only benefit to it is at 1k karma you unlock a special forum thats dead most of the time.
If you really do care about karma though make funny or interesting posts people can relate with and itll come in

Absolutely nothing, it's just like social media likes. You get nothing from having too much but you still want too much of it because 100 is obviously way more preferable than 0.
