Until Token Shop is closed, why not allow the purchase of Tokens with Torn Cash?
TC 25,000,000 per Token, maybe someone would be better at pegging the value correctly..

I agree. Either cash or points. This way its another money sink and sucks some points and cash out of the economy

At first this seems like a dumb idea, but honestly, Ched might like it as he is always looking for ways to suck some $$ out of the Torn economy to keep inflation in check. This seems like a niche but not unreasonable way to do it.

Only thing I would say is that buying honor bars would need to cost more than buying backdrops or hairstyles, as it is buying a merit and that costs 250 points (about 12m at time of writing.) But otherwise, yeah, not too terrible an idea.

Maybe like 1 token per 25 levels and cost 1b then it's probably fair. I feel like tokens just can't be given a value.

I think Torn needs to introduce a SIXTH type of currency

I was thinking 25m might be a bit low. Interesting idea of tying it to levels, but an easy solve would be straight TC cash, up to a maximum number in total.

one merit costs 100 points normally (the ones you can buy from leveling up) so set the price point there at a minimum

No, tokens are a incentive so people participate in the events.

What events. They are all gone. Last one left is Elims and that not even confirmed to come back. And the token shop has been confirmed to be getting trashed in the future

7 years straight of 1st place is a bit ridiculous to get them all... so here's a suggestion on a potential restructure.

1. Divide all Honor Bars into 5 tiers. Already different costs, so fairly easy.
2. Set up a Tier Unlock structure for rewards, based on Total Tokens Earned.
@ 5 tokens - all Hair Unlocked
10 - Tier 1 Honors
15 - All backgrounds
20 - Tier 2 Honors
30 - Tier 3 Honors
40 - Tier 4 Honors
50 - Tier 5 Honors

With this structure, you could do it in 5 1st Places, or with an avg of 5, it would take 10 events.

This seems reasonable to me, but open to input.

They are removing the token shop. And all but one tokem earning event is left. There is no need to rework it. Just open it up to being able to be bought with large amounts of points

The article said it isn't going away anytime soon. This is a fairly simple rework for people to have fun with until it eventually goes away/they decide what they actually want to do with.

People keep complaining about how they are nerfing 'insert here' income, and the solutions here are to throw a ridiculous amount of money at it? The items from the shop will still be obtainable someway in the future, and buying them with TCD/points(same thing...) seems like the dumbest solution to me.

The shop is not going away any time soon, agreed. What is going away is the events to earn tokens. Why do you think it is dumb to allow points or Tc Money to be used to buy tokens? "No new token-paying events on the horizon", from the newspaper. What harm to allow the purchase till the shop is deleted and something new is installed?

There are so many merits that players who didn't start at the inception of Torn can't get that providing at least a means to obtain these would be fair. Also for those of us who have been playing, but we have lives and sometimes events conflict with that. So give everyone, new and old, to acquire these merits.

Ched is always talking about asking players, but why weren't we consulted about this?

I thought about that. I guess this could have been vetted there too. Seems like more traffic here and I wanted the idea vetted with as many eyes as possible.
