not sure if anyone else has had thought

earning respect has become a lot easier since ranked warring became a thing  as easier to get members to chain also bonus respect from the ranked war itself

this i think has nerfed raiding as before ranked war you had to get the whole faction to chain for little to no rewards unlike ranked wars

i think to get the respect lost from raiding is too easy now  raiding is more of a nuisance than anything damaging

im not sure how i would go about changing it

maybe changing raiding like a forced rw 3 days too raid winner gets a bonus reduction too the enemy factions respect

that last bit might be a stupid idea what does everyone else think got any better ideas on how to buff it or am i stupid and its fine as is

Raiding was created prior to RWs, in the time where all serious factions felt they had to do regular chains in order to grow enough respect to reach their goals. With Ranked Warring, factions are now plenty adequately compensated for their efforts to gain extra respect, including with bonus respect, so that very few factions chain anymore outside of Halloween, where they are also, similarly, handsomely rewarded for their work.

That's a double-nerf for raids, which not only do not have the same level of sting because respect is now a more readily-available commodity, but also because the raiding factions have to balance those attacks with RWs, meaning they must forego massive income to continue doing any real damage.

There could be a number of possible buffs, such as:

  • Increased respect on raid targets
  • A separate multiplier for respect taken away based on the number of hits done by your faction so far, without timeout like a regular chain
  • Target faction-wide effects based on raid progress, which could come with stricter rules for keeping a raid active before the other side can cease it

Raids were intended to be something an active faction could use to inflict real pain on an enemy at some expense to themselves as well. I don't think they meet that goal anymore.

Totally agree with this. Raids need to be adjusted to the new war mechanics where they actually cause fear to those as it should. To many factions this is easily by-passed even with the 60sec safety net that is imposed by rw mechanism.  Raids needs to be higher respect damage inflicted as well. Dushane has a good post here more needs to be done to balance this out so a raid is treated as serious as it should be. ie, f*** around and find out.

Could tie raiding damage into perks. So that it scales based on their size.

For example, raiding a low respect faction with 1 branch, you start removing respect in line with their respect assigned to that tree, which isn't a ton.

But if raiding a top end faction with multiple branches unlocked, you're attacks are damaging in line with a large multiplier as they've got several branches unlocked.

Seeing currently a raid can damage almost no factions, let's be honest even a 30k respect faction can shrug off a lot of bonus hits to stay fine with 1 RW a week. And the system needs to stay like that as it's a one attack fits all target factions system so it sucks ass if you wanted to damage a faction over 500k respect, never mind a 10m respect.

Scaling based on perk trees means a faction is damaged commensurate with size, so a weak faction and a HOF have as much to fear from a raid as each other.
